Thank you so much for awarding me the Patrons of Italian Culture scholarship. I am thrilled to begin my studies at the University of Edinburgh this fall, where I have accepted an unconditional offer to study History and Italian. Edinburgh's long tradition of Italian studies and its wide-ranging, interdisciplinary history program make it an ideal place for me to pursue my academic interests.
I plan to spend my junior year studying abroad in Italy, where I look forward to further strengthening my Italian while engaging with history from both a European and global perspective. My long-term goal is to pursue a Ph.D. and to teach at a university or work in a museum, sharing my passion for history and the Italian language with others.
Although I am not Italian, I am deeply grateful that Patrons of Italian Culture supports students who develop a love for Italian language and culture. I have been learning Italian since the age of two, and living in Padova for a year as a child profoundly shaped my love for history and languages. Being bilingual has greatly influenced the way I see the world and continues to inspire my curiosity.
Thank you again for this meaningful honor. Grazie mille!
