I am beyond honored to have been awarded the 2022 Albert J. Casola Prize. I would like to express my gratitude to Pres. Paul Romano and to the entire board of directors.
Since I moved to the United States in 2016, being a pianist, I have been working on promoting music written by lesser-known Italian composers. I sincerely hope that I will be able to continue to do so in collaboration with this wonderful organization, the Patrons of Italian Culture.
Before me, my great-grandfather, my grandfather and my father have had ties with the U.S. of America. They all lived here for a certain of amount of time, and when I turned eighteen I felt the desire of moving to New York for college. Particularly now that I am living in Los Angeles, the U.S. feel like a second home for me, one where I continue to keep my culture and my traditions alive.
Sharing and promoting the culture of Italy brings me a great amount of joy, and I would like to thank, once again, the P.I.C. for allowing me to continue to do so and supporting me in the continuation of my studies at UCLA. Grazie!
